‘TROLL OFF’

To my regular readers, I apologise in advance for this little rant I am about to release. But honestly I have had enough now.

I also apologise for going AWOL for a bit, but I have been busy with my job since after Christmas its been eating into my blogging time, hopefully normal chat will resume shortly, anyway, onto the rant :)

I am all for a healthy debate, but I am not about beating a dead horse.

This post is going out particularly to Darren who feels its his soul purpose in life to make everyone understand that alternative therapies are scams *rollfeckingeyes* Particular when said commenter has so obviously googled the word ‘Ionic Balance Band’ and has found my posts, and feels its his duty to call me stupid, in his roundabout way.

Now, I gave you the opportunity to post and leave your heinous comment, and I mentioned already I was not going to allow you to comment again, I have ‘beat the horse’ with my views on HOW I PERSONALLY FEEL wearing the bands, I am not selling them, and for the eleventy billionth time I AM NOT AFFILIATED TO THE COMPANY!!!! So stop frigging trolling my personal site with your ridiculous comments. You have said your piece, I have said mine, you are obviously not interested in my life…so MOVE THE FRIGG ON!

I could give a shit if you think it necessary to inform the world how you disagree with the company, but there are over 20 thousand people who do like the product. You came here to start a fight on a post that I wrote nearly a year ago…you made that comment over 6wks ago and then decided last night to come back and comment again, which as you can see I refuse to post, I moderate my posts because I get real scams and spams posted to my site, in fact Akismet, the little widget I have to protect my site, has protected my site against over 2,000 of them, and guess what, Akismet is stopping you posting from now on too :D because not only do I stand by my view that you are trolling, which if you look up the definition, that is what you are, you know nothing about me and what my blog stands for.

And…I still wear and BELIEVE in my ionic band what you gonna do about it!!!??? so take your little preacher than though act and go troll off elsewhere. And for anyone else that wants to preach to me about this, then don’t bother,I am done with it. I have a condition, the company have already stated they make NO MEDICAL CLAIMS, to the thousands of people who wear them, we believe in them as ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES…well I believe it as an alternative therapy. And if it is the placebo effect that is making me feel better, than so the frigg what I FEEL BETTER, you don’t believe that, that is your prerogative, I believe and like them, then that is mine….THE END.

I am Ionic Woman

So, if you have been following along with me over the past few months, you will remember my love off Ionic Balance Bands, if you havent read my posts just click on the link  here to read them, (psst, these are my PERSONAL views on the bands).

I have absolute belief that this band is helping me, with my Lupus, I know, there will be sceptics out there, and that is ok.  I am not going to argue/debate about this because it is my belief and no-one is going to convince me I am wrong.  I am not going to convince paranormal fanatics that ghosts don’t exist.  Many many patients who suffer from an illness will try various alternative therapies, for me, I chose and have faith in the Ionic Band.

The band has not cured my illness, which includes chronic pain and fatigue.  It has however, made the pain more bearable to live with.  Strangely, it seemed to affect one side of my body.  I wear the band on my right hand, and I noticed that the right side felt considerable better than my left side.

Recently, I was contacted by the Company Director of Ionic Balance Band  who wanted me to try wearing another band.  I received the band from a friend who retails them that day.  Around about day 10 of wearing the second band (which I wear on my left wrist, amazingly!! :D ) I have noticed a considerable difference in my pain.  I did suffer one side effect from wearing 2 bands, but I persevered with it…I suffered some dizziness, which resulted in some nausea, this lasted 3 days, after which time I noticed the left side of my body feel much better, much more subtle and most importantly, less pain.

last week, I took both my bands off, as I was attending a family wedding, I opted to wear a magnetic bracelet which is designed to look like costume jewelry with a bit of bling.  By the time I got home at ‘ridiculous o’clock’  I was crippled in pain, maybe because I was drinking a lot of wine/champagne/Morgans! and dancing to the ceilidh band…Hey, I am from West Scotland, it’s the law to have copious amounts of alcohol and dance jigs!! ;)

The next morning I put my bands straight back on, it took around 4 days before the pain subsided,  in fact, yesterday was when I felt ‘normal’ again I could not do my kickboxing classes as I was so sore and stiff, when I am in bad pain, my fingers will lock kind of giving them a webbed look.

But for the first time, in around 4 months, both sides of my body feel great now, I will say I have started medication now, but have been told it will take at least 12wks before I will notice any effect.  I am on wk 3 with the meds.  Yes I still get sore, but as I have said, and Ionic Balance Bands have claimed, these wont cure me, but my pain is definitely more bearable.

I am, now, Ionic Woman!!  I really have nothing bad to say about these bands, for me, they have given me back my life.

Moody Biatch!!!

I discovered I have RA thanks to the worst ever PMT!! This was the reason I went to see the doctor in the first place.

Yes, I have had pain off and on for 2yrs now, but its only being recently I have started to pay more attention to the pains, as to when, where and why it happens.

Is there something I am doing in particular that would cause pain? I do kickboxing which is a contact sport, I run which is putting a lot of pressure on my knee, but I couldn’t pin point it to my sports.

There also was no consistency as to when the pain would flare up, sometimes I would have pain in the evenings, sometimes I would be in pain in the morning.

Just 2 months ago I was out for a run, and decided to go for a bath instead of my usual shower.  After my bath, I struggled with halling myself up.  Seriously, I am not a big person, but I did resemble a beached whale.  I was not in pain, but I felt every joint seize up, its like my body went on strike, and was refusing to get itself out of the warm bath.

The next morning, I had that little monthly visitor ;) and all day, for 3 days the pain my body was in, was unbearable.  I was hobbling around like a little old lady.  But I finally found out what was wrong with me.  I had SERIOUS PMT!!

I booked an appointment hoping and praying that my Dr would give me some hormones, nope, she wanted to take bloods instead, 3 days later, my PMT became RA.

Since then though, I have noticed an increased level of pain during the monthly visitor.  I don’t know if other female sufferers have noticed this?

The only way I have with dealing with the pain, is doing nothing…literally, do nothing.  The more you do while you are suffering with a flare, the more pain you will be in.  The house, believe it or not, is not going to fall down if you don’t clean floors.  The kids can enjoy your company, doing nothing, reading stories, colouring in, they love it.

And also, this is the first month having this bad flare and wearing my Ionic Band that I am not feeling the pain as bad, it’s still annoying and uncomfortable, but a lot more bearable.

So, being a female RA sufferer with the monthly visit now gives you a free pass to be vegging on the couch with a gazillion chocolate bars and chick flick movies…just saying! ;)

Ionic that I’m a believer?

I am going to preface this post by stating that I am no scientist, I don’t understand atoms, modules or whatever, even those science models with the sticks and balls on it, to me, they just look like someone failed badly making a homemade abacus!

However, my post Isn’t It Ionic, stirred up a bit of controversy, particularly with one commenter who is a sceptic, and you know, that is ok, I am not here to bash you John, but I wanted to start a whole new post for the potential sceptics.  The world would be a boring place if we all believed in the same thing….just sayin!

Some people who are non-believers, want solid concrete proof that tourmaline (which is the substance used in the Ionic-Band) does in fact have health benefits.  I can’t give you that proof.  All I can say is from my point of view, someone who has suffered with chronic pain for 2yrs, who only recently was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease known better as Rheumatoid Arthritis, who is now facing the rest of her life living with a potentially debilitating illness rattling with various painkillers and drugs.  Who is still very young herself and has very young active children, and I have absolutely no choice but to smile…or, as the saying goes ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ but inside I am in sheer agony and all I want to do is just sleep the day away but for my kids sake, I can’t.  I don’t want to, for as long as I possibly can, want my kids memories riddled with a crippled mother.

I hate  despise taking medication. I don’t even like taking vitamins! But from hereon in, I have no choices, I need medications, painkillers, anti-inflammatories

I have often sat at night, literally in tears, wondering why I have been struck down with this, I don’t (now) smoke, I very rarely drink, I run, kickbox, swim, in between making it to the gym for core strengthening workouts.

But in all this, NO DOCTOR, NO SCIENTIST, NO EXPERT can tell me why, why people suddenly for no reason have their immune system attack them.  Science does not have an answer as to why certain illnesses hit people.  But, we, as the suffers have to take it as gospel? But if  science does not have an answer as to why various non medicated drugs/gadgets work, we are not allowed to believe in them, instead its placebo? (reader, imagine me right now shrugging my shoulders in *disbelief* as that is what I am doing!)

I had Bells Palsy earlier this year, again, there is no clear reason as to why I got that illness, it happened, the proof was there to see.  You can see my videos if you want.  I saw 3 different doctors when I had that episode, not one could tell me why Bells Palsy hit, they could only guess!

My other point, non medical is this.  There are millions of people in this world that follow Christianity (for example) they believe in God, they pray, they study bibles, they preach the word, but there is no concrete evidence that God actually exists, but still people choose to belive.

Not long ago, in fact May 21st this year, people believed that the world was going to end.  I made light of the fact many times on my Facebook, looking forward to rapture as I was planning a big looting of  gadgets and hopefully, finally get my mac airbook!  Joking aside, my point is people believed it.

There is no concrete evidence that ghosts exists, but again, thousands of people in this world choose to believe and some, even stated that they themselves have seen ghosts.  But because a ‘sceptic’ has not seen it with their own eyes, they make their own choice to scoff at the believer, demanding evidence.

Overdue, pregnant mothers, for years, believe that drinking raspberry leaf tea would induce labour (I was one of them!) again, no scientific proof that it does in fact do so, but many women swear by it.  For me, it did nothing, except make me pee!

For years, people have used herbs to heal ailments, long before conventional doctors where around, long before penicillin was ever invented, people used what earth has given us, instead of chemical infused drugs.  Tourmaline is also what the earth has given us and has been used for centuries, back then people believed in its healing properties.

My point in this post is that we will always have a world of believers and sceptics and its ok, its ok to bring up a healthy debate if you are passionate about something, however I wont stand for being put down.  For my belief is that as a sufferer of chronic pain, placebo or not, my aches and pains have improved significantly since wearing the band, and I will stand by and support this, and unless you are not even prepared to try it, then frankly you can not tell me I am wrong.

Make of it as you will, and I will make of it as I will :)

The End!

ps….If you have no idea what the hell I am talking about, go read my last post and you can visit the Ionic-BalanceSite and Facebook

Isn’t it Ionic!

I wanted to post yesterday, but didn’t get round to it.  My husbando was invited to the Golf Scottish Open, hospitality, need I say more…..caranage.

So I had to entertain my kiddies myself, they both do Taekwondo and thankfully, their Instructor is running a summer camp for the first two weeks of the summer holidays.  All hail Mr Mair!

Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about these babies!!

Ionic Balance Band

Readers, seriously, these babies, are my new best friends! They are called Ionic Balance Bands and I think everyone in the entire world should be wearing one, like we are all from some kind of sci-fi movie, without Ewen MacGregor in it *sigh*

I noticed nearly every second person in my hometown wearing one of these bands, and at first I thought they were just another fashion fad.  Even one of my friends little 8yr old girl had one on and she told me it gave her energy, but frankly, that child has bundles of energy anyway and I kind of smiled and said ‘Oh yeah?’

On Monday evening, I was at my kids Taekwondo class, and I noticed a friend wearing one of these bands and I just asked her why were all these people wearing these bands, what the heck is it about.

She told me she got the band a couple of weeks ago and that since wearing it she has been sleeping better, how on earth can a band help you sleep!?!?

She proceeded to tell me that the band contains a mineral of sorts in the band, she didn’t understand how it works, but she notices a huge difference in her everyday living, she suggested I googled it.

I did, and reader, I really really suggest you have a look at the website too.

I suffer from insomnia, I am really lucky if I get 5hrs solid sleep, that’s on a good night, I go to bed exhausted every.single.night, but as soon as my head hits the pillow its like my brain is on 100 miles an hour and the off switch doesn’t work.  So if a bracelet was going to help me sleep, then why not!

When I saw what the band claims to offer, particularly what it could offer me….Faster recovery (my fractured ankle) Improved mood, reduce fatigue, deeper sleep, and most importantly Enhanced Immune Function, all these symptoms are linked to my Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is of course is an Autoimmune disease.  So, if this was claiming to aid the Immune Function then dammit, I want a piece of  it.

looking more into the site and the company Facebook page I discovered so much praise and claims for this little wonder, that I needed to get one more and more.

The next morning I dropped the kids of at their summer camp and I legged it across town to a retailer I know personally.  I got myself a small band, a nice girly cream one with purple writing.

My girly band, not the best pic, taken from my Iphone!

It was put on my arm immediately.  Keith, who sold me the band (Who is also a personally friend) wears a black one himself, he said that he noticed a big difference in his sleep around 2wks after he wore it.  You don’t take the band off EVER!  You wear it in the shower, bath, whatever you are doing wear your band.  For whatever reason you can’t wear your band, eg,  for work purposes, you can have it in your pocket, as long as it’s no more than an inch from your skin :)

I went merrily on my way.

The next morning, for the first time in 3wks, I woke up feeling fresh, the  main difference was the fact when I rose from my bed my joints were moving freely.  I still had discomfort, but definitely not the chronic pain I had been experiencing for 3 wks solid.

The proof  would be in the pudding, I know from experience my chronic pain would hit around 7pm when I get a chance to sit down after my busy day. I sat down with a cup of tea and watched my usual suspects, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and then Eastenders.

I realised at 8pm ish that I had NO PAIN! Discomfort absolutely but it was bearable.

The next morning I was the same, I had discomfort again, but no pain, I actually have reduced my pain killers, which was playing havoc with my stomach, I was and still am amazed at this little band. So much so I left a comment on the Ionic-Balance Facebook Page

It was only when I looked further into the Facebook page, I discovered that this product is actually a local based company.  Which explained why every second person I know is wearing the band.

I really wanted to do a review on the band, as I said, I personally think everyone should be wearing one, (If you have access to the Scottish Open you will notice there are a few golfers wearing the band) not only has it helped alivate the chronic pain I have been experiencing, I have noticed a difference with my kickboxing.  Within 48hrs of wearing my band there is more strength in my kicks and punches, and for the first time in a long time I have raised the height of my kicks.

I needed to review this product, so I contacted the company to ask if I could borrow the image (of the stacked bands) and other images they have.

Calum, the owner, contacted me right away and gave me permission, he also wanted to contact me personally.

He called me straight away and I praised his band no end, reader, it is so hard to explain what it can do for you, you don’t feel zaps of energy going through you and it’s not all ‘voodoo’ But your overall feeling, your energy and your state of mind does improve.  I guess you need to wear it to believe it, seriously.

Calum explained to me about the gemstone which is in the band, its called tourmaline. Tourmaline is also known as ‘Electric Stone’ it produces Negative Ions, you can read more about Negative Ions on the Ionic Balance Site.  Calum explained it as ‘Winds of Change’ the band is charged by daylight, and cleansed by moonlight.

What I am amazed at is Calum came up with the idea in December, I had to query that, December just past? Yes, he said, December 2010, he then said as soon as he got the idea, he started researching it, and on March this year he went live with his product.  In the space of 4 months, we have well known sport celebrities wearing the band and over 13,000 likes on the Facebook page, that reader, speaks volumes!!

I am in No Way affiliated to Ionic-Balance, I am just a consumer that was, and still is, impressed by this band. And I have been recommending it to everyone I know, whether you have health issues or not (my husband got one too, in black, and he is healthy!).  Calum has told me that he will ship worldwide with free shipping! He has so much faith (as have I) he has a 14 day money back guarantee on his product.  I really think you must have a look at the shop, there is a colour for everyone :)

I will definitely keep you updated with my progress, I am seeing my Rhuematologist on August 10th and will be keen to share my experiences with him, and, if you do get a band, let me (and Calum, you can contact him both on Facebook and his site) know how you get on with it, I would love to hear your experiences too!

Happy Banding :)

Thank you to Calum from Ionic-Balance.com for the use of his image
