Hangs head in shame…..

……..*blows of dust*

Herm…anyone out there, Oh My, I have been naughty (No Mr Grey references!) Time sure disappears so quickly, I can not believe its been May since my last entry. Honestly, I was getting fed up with trolls, and the constant spamming, but thankfully its set up so it doesn’t post directly to my blog, but the troll messages where beginning to irritate them, so hopefully by not feeding them for a while, they would starve and move off or just die! ;)

Anyway, what is going on with me, well back in June I completed the Nairnshire challenge, which consisted of a horrific 12.2 mile hike through the most horrendous terrain, then a 17.7 cycle through the Scottish Countryside, wasnt as bad but the rain was coming ‘down’ in a horizontal fashion (As it does in the Highlands!) making the enjoyable ride not so enjoyable.

I have 2 more races in the pipeline, and this is one of the reasons why I am dusting off the blog.  Firstly, which I signed up for months ago, is the  Baxters Loch Ness 10k, my nemesis, only because last year I ran it, I was in a lot of pain with flares from my lupus and just started medication which hadn’t kicked into my blood stream.  So the 10k was hell on earth, painful and distressing resulting me finishing with a poor 1hr 17mins.  My hopes are to knock that 17mins off my time.

The next one I am signed up for after the Baxters is the biggie and the one I am so so so excited about.

VIRGIN LONDON MARATHON 2013

wohoooooo!!!! I am so beyond excited and nervous about this one! I entered the ballot for my charity Lupus UK, not expecting to be successful, but I, along with my good friend both found out last week we got in.  We need to raise at least £2,000 for them, and I am pretty sure we will do it.  I am starting a sensible training plan which hopefully will prevent injury and also not push myself to far which will result in me flaring.

So, I thought, because of the support of my friends and family that are supporting me, I will dust down my blog and start blogging my training.  And, hopefully inspire other lupus patients to get out there, you dont have to run a marathon, but a brisk walk even, makes you feel tons better, and personally I LOVE sticking a finger up to lupus.

Take today for example, today is day 1 of my training plan, gorgeous day, I am following the London Marathon training plan, and day 1 suggest a 10 min jog and a 10 min run.

Just over 2 miles,  and I am actually happy with that, before Lupus I would have done 3 miles in that time, but instead of beating myself up with it, I am repeating my new mantra…..’I am doing something that some healthy people wont do’

Oh, and we have a JustGiving Page

‘TROLL OFF’

To my regular readers, I apologise in advance for this little rant I am about to release. But honestly I have had enough now.

I also apologise for going AWOL for a bit, but I have been busy with my job since after Christmas its been eating into my blogging time, hopefully normal chat will resume shortly, anyway, onto the rant :)

I am all for a healthy debate, but I am not about beating a dead horse.

This post is going out particularly to Darren who feels its his soul purpose in life to make everyone understand that alternative therapies are scams *rollfeckingeyes* Particular when said commenter has so obviously googled the word ‘Ionic Balance Band’ and has found my posts, and feels its his duty to call me stupid, in his roundabout way.

Now, I gave you the opportunity to post and leave your heinous comment, and I mentioned already I was not going to allow you to comment again, I have ‘beat the horse’ with my views on HOW I PERSONALLY FEEL wearing the bands, I am not selling them, and for the eleventy billionth time I AM NOT AFFILIATED TO THE COMPANY!!!! So stop frigging trolling my personal site with your ridiculous comments. You have said your piece, I have said mine, you are obviously not interested in my life…so MOVE THE FRIGG ON!

I could give a shit if you think it necessary to inform the world how you disagree with the company, but there are over 20 thousand people who do like the product. You came here to start a fight on a post that I wrote nearly a year ago…you made that comment over 6wks ago and then decided last night to come back and comment again, which as you can see I refuse to post, I moderate my posts because I get real scams and spams posted to my site, in fact Akismet, the little widget I have to protect my site, has protected my site against over 2,000 of them, and guess what, Akismet is stopping you posting from now on too :D because not only do I stand by my view that you are trolling, which if you look up the definition, that is what you are, you know nothing about me and what my blog stands for.

And…I still wear and BELIEVE in my ionic band what you gonna do about it!!!??? so take your little preacher than though act and go troll off elsewhere. And for anyone else that wants to preach to me about this, then don’t bother,I am done with it. I have a condition, the company have already stated they make NO MEDICAL CLAIMS, to the thousands of people who wear them, we believe in them as ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES…well I believe it as an alternative therapy. And if it is the placebo effect that is making me feel better, than so the frigg what I FEEL BETTER, you don’t believe that, that is your prerogative, I believe and like them, then that is mine….THE END.

Happy New Year…

By golly time has gotten away from us hasn’t it :) I hope you had a wonderful Christmas whatever you were doing.  I was very spoilt by my husband and kids…I was presented with a beautiful MacBook Air :D So I have been going through this learning curve with it, I love it, and now I am ‘Apple’d out’ with all my appley gadgets :)  Whatever opportunity I have had I play around on my Mac discovering new things…the control/command function does take a bit of getting used to.

Regarding Clyde our elf…with the kids off school, blogging about Clyde was a bit difficult, so I will just do a quick blast of pictures

Husband received a lovely hamper full of yummy goodies from a client, which Clyde could not resist!

Clyde trying to built his own Christmas Grotto

Brave Clyde

My Favourite…I had a special photo album on my personal Facebook page that had various pics of Clyde and the Kids (for obvious reasons the ones of my kids won’t be published here), lots of family and friends had been following Clyde, and if I had not got a picture up of him I would have a wall full of messages wondering whats happened to him…so, I posted this one on his last night with us and I was hit with lots of messages pleading with Clyde not to leave :D

This was a special one for the kids :) I also got lots of pics of them with Clyde saying goodbye to him, the blue child was really upset to see Clyde go back to the North Pole…but, it was short-lived due to the fact that the big red man was not only taking Clyde home but will be arriving with presents.

And boy, did they get presents!! Christmas was a case as for most, a time for over indulging on food and drink, wishing the family would get back to work and school by the 2nd.

I haven’t made any new years resolutions, it was my 1yr anniversary of quitting smoking :) That I am super proud of, it’s still difficult at times, and boy after the year I have had I don’t know how the heck I managed to stay of the cigarettes!

I look back at the year with much sadness and trauma, between my Bells Palsy, the Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosis, which was then changed to Lupus, and also the loss of my beautiful fur baby Molly….This year I am determined to make 2012 a better year, obviously those things that happened to me last year were unavoidable, it was going to happen regardless and, although I went through a grieving process with my Lupus diagnosis, towards the end of the year, and mainly thanks to many other Auto-Immune advocates out there, I am learning to live with the illness.  2012 for me continues to be a year where I will keep practicing my taekwondo, and possibly will do another 10k run.

Other than that, I am also starting work next week, I was approached by my TKD instructor, who is rapidly expanding his classes and locations to become his Marketing and IT Manager, he wants to now focus purely on his classes and have a small team work alongside him.  It will be nice to get back into the working environment, and I also get to work during school hours, during school holidays he runs a camp for the kids and my kids go to them anyway so childcare at work is an added bonus :)

Anyway, whoever you are and wherever you are, I sincerely wish you a happy healthy 2012 and thank you for following me for another year :)

Clyde in the Pant tree….(you will see what I did there!)

This has got to be the best ever ‘stunt’ Clyde our elf on the shelf..herm pant covered tree….has done yet! And was a big hit with the kids.

The kids awoke this morning to find that Clyde had TP’d our Christmas Tree and adorned it in their underwear aka pants, which we Brits call Underwear, not pants as in trousers…so confusing! Now maybe the title of this blog entry isn’t as funny now!

Pink child and Clyde made a pact that he would not venture into their bedrooms.  Pink Child thought it HIL.AIR.EE.OS that Clyde decorated the tree in their PANTS but it was about 10mins later as she was eating her breakfast she realised that Clyde had had to enter her room to get the articles.

Quick thinking mum used Cinderella as an example, stating that like the Fairy Godmother putting dishes etc away as they cleaned the kitchen, her pants would have danced magically down the stairs in a similar way….I have to add, I have no idea if the Fairy Godmother put the dishes away by magic, but regardless, the dancing pants theory worked!

More Elfing around

Yes…so, my weekend posting didn’t last long did it! My niece had her 3rd birthday party on Saturday and the whole family got together to celebrate….Unfortunately, when we, as a family, get together, it is inevitable that copious amounts of wine would be consumed.  Which resulted in Saturday being a no post zone, and yesterday, slightly hungover!

So, we missed Saturday’s elf adventure.  Clyde was still freaking out pink child, so Clyde thought it best that he bribe the children into liking him.

Pink child loves art so Clyde thought it best to come back from the North Pole with new crayons

It worked…anything bearing gifts however small they are, will become pink childs’ favourite! Clyde caught colouring in provided amusing for the kids, and it appeared as if Clyde was now part of the family.  I even heard Pink child telling him that she loved him…altogether now…..AWWWWW!! :)

Saturday evening/Sunday morning…..I think Clyde was feeling the effects of alcohol consumed by the female boss of the household (that would be moi in case you are wondering) therefore, couldn’t be arsed lacked creativity

The kids were all excited to tell me what Clyde got up to during the evening, early yesterday morning…I managed muffled sounds omitting from the pillow!

This morning, Clyde was about to set my OCD through the roof..

Seriously…Clyde, this mama no likey mess, Pink and Blue child really really believe that Clyde is really real as mummy would not do that ;) Pink child gave Clyde a telling off.  Blue child told Pink child he thinks Clyde did this because it was snowing last night here and he just wanted a piece of the action….

Now to think about what Clyde is up to this evening….one thing I needed to do was set a reminder on my phone to shift Clyde, Friday night I had gone to bed and awoke with a jolt around 2am as I forgot to move him…now, I have a reminder set for 9:30pm :)
