About Me

You really want to know about me? Well, all I can say is that I am a very down to earth person who procrastinates a lot!

I am a mother to two kiddies, 3 if you include my husband, 4 if you include the dog…Life is really busy, and yes, I know all mummys in the world say that, but it is, honestly. I live in a small city in Scotland, and yes, I love Haggis!

I have been blogging off and on for 5yrs, blogging back then was due to my hobbies of digital scrapbooking,  designing and photography. I still occasionally scrapbook and take pictures, but life (yeah, that thing again) kind of took over and I gradually phased it out.

I tend to ramble, my real living friends tell me I ramble, I come out with random things, such as ‘do crows stay in one area or do they fly long distance?’ and my audience usually stands staring at me dumbstuck.

At the beginning of the year I was hit with some health issues that have made me re-evaluate my lifestyle choices.  I had problems with my foot, I thought I pulled ligaments in it as I am a runner.  After a few months with no signs of getting better, I decided to, eventually, visit a doctor, who had my foot x-rayed, to discover my foot was in fact fractured in 2 places.  I am still in physiotherapy.

After that episode, one afternoon I had a bit of a fright, I felt ‘pin and needles’ in my face I looked in the mirror and literally saw the right side of my face fall! At first I thought I was having a stroke, but it turns out, I had what was known as Bells Palsy (have a look at the categories, I have blogged and vloged about my recovery)

On top of that, I have been suffering from chronic pain, on and off for 2yrs.  I was diagnosed at the time, with having carpal tunnel syndrome as most of the pain was in my hands.  Lately the pain has effected every.single.joint in my body, some days its so bad its a struggle getting dressed in the morning.  But I follow that old British War Time Phrase……

I was recently diagnosed as having Lupus, the Drs initially thought it was Rhuematoid Arthritis, both being very similar diseases. I am still, at this time in ‘denial’ stage, but I am learning to live with it.

My two biggest hobbies is kickboxing and running, not particular the best sports when you are living with chronic joint pain, but at this time of my life, for as long as I possibly can bear it, I will continue to do so.  As I have told my Drs, ‘You are a long time dead!’

As well as sports, I enjoy baking, cooking in general, but baking is my favourite thing to do in the whole wide world….My carrot cake leaves my kitchen counter in zero to 60 in 2 seconds!

So, basically, the Littertray, is my place to ramble, vent and share about anything and everything.

P.S, I really love comments, so if you want, even if its to say hi, please leave a wee note I would love to hear from you, and I may even stop by your blog   :)

  1. Hi! You sound like a really great person to be around and now I must find out whether or not crows travel long distances. Although I don’t think they do…hmmm…. :D

I believe they don’t, and I also found out why the don’t electrocute themselves on electricity pylons too!

Thank you for popping by, I had a quick ‘gander’ at your blog I love the look of it and have bookmarked it for a stop by, when my kids give me a moment :D

      • Thank-you very much. I’m going to have to do some more extensive reading on your blog as well when I have time.

I forgot to mention that I also really like the look of your blog.

  2. I ran across your twitter account and it peaked my interest, especially your blog name…lol. When I read your “about me” I can relate to a lot of it. I will be keeping up with your blog b/c well I like it, but I will message you privately about a product that may help you with some of your ailments. I will be honest with you my friend and I do sell products but we are trying to make some friends in the blogging world that we can “keep up with” and get to know. Can never have enough friends right?

I saw that you mentioned you like haggis. I just learned what that was on the show Chopped that I watch. Do you get that show there? It is on the Cooking Network.

Well enough of my ramblings. It was nice meeting you hope to hear from you soon!

For the pain – try googling The Monroe Institute – Hemisync – Audio files that make you feel less pain? Mind over matter and the likes.

  5. I’ll never complain about the pain in my legs the day after running again. Good luck with the running and coping with your conditions.
